AGM 2011

A note of the main points from the AGM held at the Kings Arms,Hale on 19th January 2011.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND RENEWALS
Fees are to remain the same as last year ie very cheap! .Can everyone please renew their subscriptions AS SOON AS POSSIBLE - and at least no later than the 1st April cut of date so that we know where we are with England Athletic affiliations -  print off  RENEWAL FORM

CLUB TREASURER
Paul Crewe has stood down from the role - the club thanks him for his commitment over the years.
We are fortunate to have found an excellent replacement as Treasurer ie Paul Sewell.
See updated Contacts list on website.

OUR CHOSEN CHARITY
The club has adopted the St John's Hospice , Lancaster as it's chosen charity for 2011 - part of the entry fee from our races will be donated - we will also shake buckets for voluntary parking contributions at our races,  donate profits from refreshments etc.
If individuals are doing any fundraising they might consider St John's Hospice.

Greg Tagney and Mick Pearcy will be getting some other initiatives off the ground during the year and invite you to come forward with your ideas and offers of help - details will appear on the website as they emerge.
See updated Contacts list on website for their phone numbers.

MID LANCS CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE
As no one from the club is attending these events it's been decided not to pay the entry fee of £80 in future years - members can still enter on an individual basis (currently £2.50 per race)

WEDNESDAY CLUB RUNS
Members are encouraged to get involved in the planning of the weekly runs and any suggestions for new venues or the organisation of established runs would be appreciated .
Please put forward you ideas well in advance so that Dave Shinn can always have venues listed on the Calendar for the next couple of months.

SAFETY ON CLUB RUNS - FLUORESCENT VESTS
It was noted that safety awareness on club runs has improved eg "watching out for each other",counting back, running back etc. Lets keep this up and make it even better.
Whilst members are encouraged to arrive with their own fluorescent vests on the dark nights ,a suggestion that the club purchases some extra ones (with club name on) to use as a float will be taken forward by Greg.

YOUR NEWS AND ACHEIVEMENTS
A reminder that news and photos of your race stories and acheivements are welcomed for the website as people enjoy reading about them. Please email content to david.g.shinn@gmail.com

WARM WEATHER TRAINING
(this sounds more like it!)
